Seeking a Superintendent

A District Dedicated to Promoting High Standards in Curriculum, Instruction, Performance, and Personal Behavior

The Board of Trustees of the Etiwanda School District is seeking an experienced and highly respected Superintendent to lead an academically strong, community-centered school district known for strong relationships, excellence in education, and a deeply rooted culture of care.

The Opportunity to Lead

The Etiwanda School District offers an opportunity to steward a district defined by a longstanding commitment to excellence in education. It is characterized by close connections among students, staff, families, and the broader community, and by a shared understanding of what it means to lead with care, consistency, and integrity.

The Superintendent serves as a visible and trusted presence, modeling the values of the Etiwanda Way through daily actions, communication, and decision-making. In Etiwanda, trust is built through presence, transparency, and follow-through, and the next Superintendent will engage thoughtfully with a community that is invested, informed, and proud of its schools.

The district seeks a leader who can preserve what works, strengthen consistency, and guide thoughtful progress while honoring the expectations that have made Etiwanda a high-performing and respected school district.

About The Community

Etiwanda is a historic community overlaying a portion of the cities of Fontana and Rancho Cucamonga, in San Bernardino County, California. Known for its scenic setting at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains, Etiwanda offers a family-oriented environment with well-maintained neighborhoods, access to parks and trails, and a strong sense of civic pride. The community values education, stability, and growth. Families are highly engaged, deeply involved in their schools, and committed to maintaining the quality and character of the district. Etiwanda’s combination of suburban tranquility and proximity to major Southern

California employment and cultural centers makes it a highly desirable place to live and work.

About The District

The Etiwanda School District (ESD) is a long-standing, highly regarded TK–8 school district serving nearly 14,000 students across 13 elementary schools and four intermediate schools. Established in 1883, the district has grown alongside its community while maintaining a strong commitment to

educational excellence, stability, and partnership. ESD is defined by professionalism, collaboration, and trust. Staff is deeply committed to student success and to one another,

reflecting pride in their work and loyalty to the district. Schools function as hubs of community life, supported by active families and community partners who share responsibility for student learning and well-being. The district emphasizes well-rounded, high-quality instruction, intentional practices, and balanced expectations, ensuring academic rigor, staff support, and student needs remain aligned. Fiscal responsibility, sound planning, and prudent resource management support long-term sustainability.
