Robert L. French, Ed.D.

Dr. French graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology (1952), a Master’s Degree in Biology (1954), and a Doctorate in Education (1969). His professional career began in 1956 in the Whittier Union High School District as a chemistry teacher. He went on to hold various positions in the Huntington Beach and Fullerton Union High School Districts which included Curriculum Coordinator, Assistant Principal, Principal, Director of Curriculum, and Assistant Superintendent.

Dr. French served as the Superintendent of Schools in the Piedmont Unified School District (1983-1987), the Beverly Hills Unified School District (1987-1990), and the Orange Unified School District (1994-1999 and 2002-2005).
Following a twenty year tenure as an Adjunct Professor at U.S.C., Dr. French served as Assistant Dean and Clinical Professor of Education in the Rossier School of Education from 1990-1994. In January 2007, he will return to the University as a Clinical Professor.
